This is yet another handout briefing the musical domain from my panorama.I m trying to add some more ingredients in our musical cuisine by apprising][
my aquaintances different and vast spread orbit of this rich Indian heritage.
MUSIC-....MAJESTY IN THE BYGONE
As the Indian culture is one of the oldest and richly endowed with its own ecstasy, so was the music at its par. When long before, the entire world was dug deep in the ignorance and peculiar notions, one of the Indian scriptures, mainstays of whom were the Rigveda,Atharvaveda,Yajurveda and the former one, enlighten and entice the that time community towards this whimsical harmony.Music in our shastras is considered to be 'Nad Brahma' .This was a major tool for meditation, and also a manner of accomplishing self realization.
Indian music is based upon the seven swaras, the saptak, amidst any two are uncountable shrutis .(shruti is the smallest uncountable interval of the tuning system.)

The Indian music is mainly categorized as Hindustani(north Indian) and Carnatic shailey(south Indian).the seven swaras describes above are made changes one way or the other and are then tied up to form different jatis and then ragas. These ragas are considered efficacious and are designs accordingly. Most of the People are well aware of raga malhar after singing which often makes the rain copiously. Some virtuoso says that Indian music has no conversant with the words that are given to those swaras ,but i do not agree with their views. After all, how come a person fit rummy words that are beyond what that particular raga actually stands for.
Indian classical music is a monophonic that's based upon a single scale. Also there are different type of musical tone, oldest among all is the dhruvpad gayan ,giving more stress in the constancy of swaras.Thereafter came khyal type, fast and more likable by the bourgeois. It is said that the Indian music has a shadow of the Persian and Iranian music as well, all the credit goes to one of the gigantic Indian maestro ,Miyan Tansen. He tried to well understand both the theories and then prepared a bewitching harmonized form of the two.The newer taste appealed much the folks and was taken to practice thereafter. This also kept alive one of the most notable quote about our incredible India- "UNITY IN DIVERSITY".
The modern India has shown a dramatic change in the genre of music and musicians.Where the classical musicians have lost that hegemony, the music has lost that depth and invincibility. But still as the sagacity of the common mass is changing, the melody still prevail. The conventional instruments are replaced .The singing style is changed.Sitar ,sarod are now supplanted by the Spanish guitar, violin etc.Jazz,Rock, Jazz,Pop,Indy Pop are the new avatars adding some context to the present diversity and richness (I would like to say coarseness) in the present.Perhaps because of embracing more and more extraneous civilization in almost all the folds of life,we cudn't keep our sedate music unswayed of it.I dont abosolutely contravene with the drift of the Indian euphony, but it must lose its own forte, its own individuality
Though in our country, there are many versatile singers who have their own specialty, their agile voice often keep the audience spellbound. We can find different voice qualities that also keep one hold for hours and avert ennui. Because of day to day comptetion ,everyday the magnitude of singers is increasing.
The problem is not with their singing style, the problem comes with the lyrics which i found often as provocative and try to enkindle our youths. Also in the country like ours, where different religious groups often pull each other legs often violently,if get anything against their social sanctity, never sway from contempting that all vehemently.
If we look beyond our country's edge , the condition is even worse. The lyrics are really awful, the music coarse and shrilling. Not only this the way, various bands promote is even more concern. One of the as i heard, the Rammstein Band always use pyrotechnics on their almost all the over-the-top stag shows that led the fans saying eventually that"other bands play,RAMMSTEIN burns".Also some other incidence related to the band as being cited from the wikipedia
Rammstein were cited in relation to the Columbine High School Massacre in 1999, when photos of Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold wearing Rammstein T-shirts were revealed. Though there was no evidence to correlate the two events, the band felt obliged to issue a statement:
- "The members of Rammstein express their condolences and sympathy to all affected by the recent tragic events in Denver. They wish to make it clear that they have no lyrical content or political beliefs that could have possibly influenced such behavior. Additionally, members of Rammstein have children of their own, in whom they continually strive to instill healthy and non-violent values".
